Kuichita · Inga Beaded Earrings
100% Handcrafted | One-of-a-Kind | Fair Trade | Indigenous-Made
These small fringe earrings are hand-beaded by Inga Awaska, a beading and cultural workshop made up of Indigenous Inga women in Putumayo, Colombia.
These beauties shine so vividly whether it's a gloomy or sunny day. Light in weight and perfect for everyday wear if you want to add a touch of vibrant shades to your wardrobe. The combination of beads used to make these earrings reminds me of how colorful rainbows are. "Kuichi" in the Inga language translates to "arco iris" or "rainbow"!

Taking Care of Beadwork 🪡
Beaded Earring Care Guide
Your beaded earrings are delicate, handmade creations that deserve a little extra care. Follow these simple tips to keep them beautiful for years to come.
📿 Handle with care. Beads and threads are delicate, so avoid tugging or pulling on your earrings to prevent breakage or loosening.
💧 Keep them dry. Moisture can weaken the thread and damage certain beads. Avoid wearing your earrings while swimming, showering, or in humid environments.
🧴 Avoid chemicals. Keep your earrings away from perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, and other products that may cause discoloration or damage.
👝 Store them safely. When not in use, keep your earrings in a soft pouch or jewelry box to prevent tangling, snagging, or crushing.
🧹 Clean gently. If needed, lightly dust your earrings with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water, soaps, and cleaning solutions.
✨ Protect their shape. Avoid dropping, pressing, or placing heavy objects on your earrings, as this may damage the beads or loosen the thread.
Each pair is a unique, handmade creation, carrying the care, skill, and artistry of the person who made it.
Treat your earrings with love, and they can remain a treasured part of your collection for years to come.
Taking Care of Mochila Bags 🧶
Wayuu Mochilas Care Guide
Made with durable, hypoallergenic acrylic threads, these creations are lightweight, resilient, and designed to last. With a little love and the right care, your mochila can remain vibrant and beautiful for years to come.
How to Care for Your Mochila
🧼 Hand wash gently. Always wash your Wayuu mochila by hand in cold water with a mild detergent. Machine washing can weaken the fibers and distort the weave.
🪥 Treat minor stains carefully. Gently dab the area with a soft cloth or toothbrush, mild soap, and water. Avoid scrubbing, as this can damage the threads.
🚫 Avoid bleach and harsh cleaners. These products can cause discoloration and damage the fibers.
🪟 Air dry in the shade. After washing, gently reshape your mochila and hang it to dry in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight to help prevent fading.
🪮 Care for the tassels. Gently separate and smooth the tassels with your fingers or a soft brush to prevent tangles and knots.
Extra Tips to Keep Your Mochila in Great Shape
- Store it properly. Keep your mochila in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid stacking heavy items on top of it to help maintain its shape.
- Avoid overloading. Although Wayuu mochilas are sturdy, carrying excessive weight over time can stretch the weave and strain the straps. Give your mochila a break from heavy loads whenever possible.
- Pack with care when traveling. Gently fold or roll your mochila to save space, taking care not to crease or stretch the weave excessively.
Treat your mochi care and it can accompany you for years to come.
