Collection: Xiomara's Fruit & Mar Collection

Tamsa Handcrafts was founded in 2021 by Xiomara Chingate as a way to give back (Tamsa means offering in the Muysca language) to her community by uplifting and amplifying the beadwork traditions of displaced Indigenous artisans in Colombia while she lived in the United States. In 2025, the brand evolved to feature Xiomara’s own beadwork artistry.

Xiomara learned this beadwork style from North American Native women elders within the community where she once lived. Her work is inspired by self-love, the richness of Colombian culture, and the natural world, celebrating vibrant wildlife such as Toco Toucans, Spotted Eagle Rays, and the migratory Humpback whales that connect oceans and continents.

Each piece is a reflection of beauty, heritage, and shared living stories.  Xiomara is now based in Cali, Colombia.

Spotted Eagle Rays, as well as all rays, possess an ethereal energy that feels almost celestial. As they glide through the ocean, they resemble beings in quiet communion with the Universe, moving with grace and intention. Their presence invites a deep sense of peace mixed with gentle curiosity, one that makes me yearn to embody the same balance of stillness, curiosity and harmony they reflect.

I sought to create a line that displays the magical, powerful beauty of Spotted Eagle Rays in the ocean.
